Why JCHS?

זֶה־הַיּוֹם עָשָׂה יְהֹוָה נָגִֽילָה וְנִשְׂמְחָה בוֹ

This is the day that G-D has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

With unconditional love, and gratitude to Hashem who has guided me every single day of my life, I am blessed and filled with joy to announce the inauguration of Jewish Culture High School - תיכון תרבות תורה. To many people this will sound like “yet another school”, but to me this is a long time passion project that is finally coming to fruition. This is a way to honor all my teachers and mentors who guided me throughout the years, and passed the torch to me. This is a way to transform Jewish students every single day and inspire our next generation of Jewish Leaders. This is my way of saying “Thank You Hashem” for instilling in me an unwavering passion and devotion to Jewish education.

For those of you who know me, the announcement of this school will not come as a complete surprise. You can attest to the notion that I believe myself to be a “mover and shaker”.  I don’t believe things should ever be left as status quo, but that you should always dream bigger and push the boundaries, especially when it comes to our children. In what industry is it more important to try and shake things up and “disrupt” the marketplace?!

As an educator I know that, every single day, I have a responsibility and an opportunity to help better the world and ignite a spark within a student. I humbly choose to take this path and embark on a journey that pioneers before me were ambitious and bold enough to attempt.

The Mishna describes it beautifully, “The day is short and the work is plentiful” (Avot 2:15), no two days are alike and every day is a marathon.

Jewish Culture High School will be an institution that cultivates fulfilled and thoughtful students who are engaged in conquering the challenges of the world, all while staying true to their Jewish identity, character and live a Torah committed life.
