Mission and Culture

Jewish Culture High School is creating a community of contributors. Our teachers, as partners with our learners, nurture Jewish young adults in a modern orthodox, Zionist, and co-working environment to be lifelong learners committed to growth, inquiry, discovery, and action all while expressing pride in their Jewish identity.

Educational Philosophy

We believe that the school experience should be one that kindles creativity, exploration, inquiry, discovery, and action.

We believe that one’s high school years should not merely be seen as a training ground for what comes next, be it college or a job. “Real life” starts now, and learners should see themselves as contributors to the larger world now, not just when they go out into “the real world”- this IS the real world! We are committed to breaking the barriers that traditional education systems have created for young adults to see themselves as active contributors to the communities around them.

We believe that academic success should be measured by a learner’s growth and contributions to their community rather than narrowly defined by a letter or number. The goal of education should be to pique the learner’s desire for self growth, exploration, discovery, and action. The endgame of education is not statistics and data but rather the development of a human being who is committed to sustained inquiry and contribution.

We believe that individual creativity is perceived as a unique and integral aspect of each learner and as such, needs to be valued and cultivated.

We believe that learners should see themselves as active participants and drivers of their education rather than passive recipients of information and performers of arbitrary tasks.

We believe that all learning can and should have real-world relevance and application, whether it is the traditional canon of literature or problem solving solutions for 21st century global challenges.

We believe that everyone has a contribution to make to the world.

We believe that these beliefs are Torah driven.
